Pizza Palace is a well-established restaurant located in Browns Plains, Queensland, serving a diverse menu combining traditional pizza with Mediterranean and charcoal grill cuisine. Our menu includes freshly prepared pizzas, Turkish pides, charcoal grilled meats, gozleme, burgers, fresh salads and house-made sauces, served to dine-in and takeaway customers in the local community.

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a skilled Chef to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items including pizzas, Turkish pides, charcoal grilled meats, burgers, gozleme and Mediterranean-style dishes
  
• Planning and organising food preparation and cooking activities in a commercial kitchen
  
• Ensuring consistent quality, taste and presentation of all dishes
  
• Assisting with menu planning and development of new menu items
  
• Monitoring food preparation, portion control and minimising food waste
  
• Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products
  
• Managing stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
  
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
  
• Supervising and assisting in training kitchen staff
  
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  

Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or equivalent) or relevant industry experience
  
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
  
• Experience with pizza preparation, grill cooking or Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  
• Strong teamwork and organisational skills
  
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
