About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our hospital kitchen team on a permanent part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to prepare high-quality meals, support excellent patient dining experiences, and contribute to a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet patient dietary requirements and food service standards.
  • Assist with food ordering and stock control in the absence of the Coordinator.
  • Support menu planning using seasonal ingredients while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and infection control standards.
  • Manage food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen operations to deliver consistent, timely service.
  • Monitor inventory, stock rotation, and kitchen supplies to minimise waste.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and hospital teams to ensure efficient service.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Skills in portion control, food costing, and inventory management.
  • Excellent organisational and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
