CHEF SUPERVISOR
Summary
Supervises a commercial kitchen, cooking during busy periods, training staff, and ensuring food quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking an experienced Chef Supervisor for a fast-paced commercial kitchen. This is a hands-on position involving both cooking and kitchen supervision. The successful candidate must be prepared to work during peak meal periods, weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Personally handle food preparation and cooking during busy service periods
- Supervise kitchen staff and allocate daily duties
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation and portion control
- Monitor food costs, wastage and inventory levels
- Conduct stock-taking and arrange ingredient replenishment
- Ensure proper food storage, kitchen cleanliness and food-safety compliance
- Train junior kitchen employees and monitor their performance
- Assist with menu planning and improvement of kitchen procedures
- Resolve operational issues and customer feedback promptly
- Perform opening and closing duties
- Carry out other kitchen duties when manpower is insufficient
Requirements
- Minimum [3–5] years of relevant commercial-kitchen experience
- At least [1–2] years of kitchen supervisory experience
- Proven hands-on experience preparing [insert actual cuisine/dishes]
- Able to work independently under pressure in a hot and fast-paced environment
- Able to stand for prolonged periods and handle kitchen supplies of up to [actual weight] kg
