Chemical/Process Engineer
We are looking for a Chemical/Process Engineer III who will perform engineering in all project phases of process design, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, detail engineering, and plant commissioning for chemical and petrochemical clients. In this role, you will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure our deliverables meet the highest possible standards.
Responsibilities:
- Creating and updating update process flow diagrams and P&IDs in accordance with drafting standards, preparing calculations as required for the design of process systems
- Review and recommend process equipment and material selection
- Coordinate test programs for feasibility studies
- Communicate and build relationships with current and potential clients
- Work activities include running process simulations, preparing heat and material balances, developing PFDs and P&IDs, preparing equipment data sheets and equipment lists, and developing operating cost estimates
- Drafting plans/drawings for construction for various clients in chemical and manufacturing/industrial environments
- Create models, drawings, calculations, weight estimates, and supporting documentation in collaboration with the Project Engineer and Sr. Engineer
- Check design work of layouts, including form, fit, function, materials, specification callouts, geometrics, dimensioning, and other information as directed
- Utilize computer-aided design in Autodesk products such as Autodesk Inventor and Revit
- Document all client and regulatory specifications
- Work closely with the Project Engineer to ensure that his or her design is clearly communicated on the drawings
- Travel as needed to gather field data
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion — both written and verbal
- Candidate should be able to travel occasionally
- AutoCAD Plant 3D, Ansys, & Scanning experience is a plus
- Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination and received Engineer in Training certification. Preference will be given to licensed professional engineers
- Previous chemical and/or petrochemical engineering experience
- Experience working on multidisciplinary design and construction projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Inventor software
- Professional Piping Designer (PPD) Certification
- Previous chemical and/or petrochemical drafting engineering experience
