Chemical Technician

About the role

As a Chemical Technician within our team in the insulin active ingredient production (Building D742), you will ensure the proper manufacturing of various insulin active ingredients through an independent and meticulous way of working. Compliance with GMP and safety guidelines is particularly important to us. You will work in small, autonomous teams on a long 4-shift rotation. You will actively shape future processes and, consequently, your own. To this end, production teams, operations supervisors, and the operations management team work together on an equal footing. Key responsibilities:

  • Operating and monitoring production and assigned production facilities on-site as well as via process control systems, taking into account GMP and HSE requirements

  • Adjustment / calibration of pH electrodes on-site

  • Preparing for repairs

  • Cleaning of buildings and equipment according to cleaning SOPs in the assigned area and, if necessary, unscheduled in non-assigned areas

  • Participation in improvement processes and assistance in the creation of HAWs, RAWs, and SOPs.

  • Sampling for in-process controls / process samples / special samples as well as performing simplified test methods for sample analysis

  • Preparation of process solutions (e.g., enzyme solutions)

  • Exact, complete, and timely documentation of all work performed (as required)

  • Immediate reporting of anomalies in the process/equipment to the supervisor

  • Carrying out other work arising in the operation as instructed

  • Carrying out maintenance and repair activities (W+I)

  • Taking on further individual tasks, e.g., documentation officer, first aider

About you

Experience:

  • Experience in operating a process control system

Soft skills

  • Resilience and flexibility

  • Knowledge and experience in GMP and HSE

Education

  • Completed vocational training as a Chemical Technician (m/f/d)

Technical skills / abilities

  • Independent and very well-documented way of working

  • Willingness to work shifts

Languages

  • Good written and spoken German skills
