Role:

As a Principal within our Chemicals Practice, you will serve as a high-impact executive leader driving market growth, spearheading complex client transformations, and cementing the firm’s reputation as a premier industry thought leader. This role demands a sophisticated blend of macro-strategic vision and deep operational fluency. You will partner with C-suite executives to navigate the unique volatility, supply chain complexities, and sustainability shifts facing chemical manufacturers and process-intensive organizations.

This is a partner-track role designed for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives at the intersection of business development, delivery excellence, and team mentorship.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Client Engagement & Deliverables:

  • Executive Strategy: Serve as the trusted advisor to C-suite and senior VPs (Operations, R&D, Sustainability) at major CPI (Chemical Process Industries) clients, guiding decisions on capital allocation, portfolio shifts, and operational footprint.
  • Problem Solver: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of the most critical, complex client problems, which often include:
  • Process Optimization: Driving significant Operational Excellence initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across production sites.
  • Strategic Direction: Define and articulate the strategic vision for client projects, overseeing the development of high-impact, data-driven solutions and managing implementation risk.
  • Quality Assurance: Own the delivery of all projects, ensuring that final recommendations are technically sound, commercially viable, and lead to measurable, sustained client value.

Business Development and Growth:

  • Revenue Generation: Proactively identify, qualify, and lead the pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Practice Leadership: Define and execute the regional or functional growth strategy for the CPI practice, aligning market opportunities with the firm's service offerings.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the development, writing, and presentation of compelling proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and pitches that clearly articulate the firm's value proposition.
  • Key Account Management: Oversee strategic client relationships, ensuring portfolio growth and deep penetration into critical accounts.
  • Thought Leadership: Author high-impact white papers, presentations, and industry viewpoints on key CPI trends (e.g., advanced materials, digital manufacturing, regulatory shifts like TSCA/REACH), elevating the firm's brand and creating client demand.

Firm and People Leadership:

  • Technical Mentor: Lead, mentor on professional development and provide deep technical guidance and mentorship to consulting teams, ensuring consultants develop expertise in core CPI domains (e.g., process safety, continuous process improvement, supply chain logistics).
  • Intellectual Capital: Contribute significantly to the firm’s thought leadership, developing new service offerings, methodologies, and publishing relevant industry insights.
  • Capability Building: Drive the creation of proprietary methodologies, benchmarking tools, and digital solutions tailored specifically for the chemical industry.
  • Internal Operations: Participate in firm-wide strategic planning, recruiting, and practice development initiatives to ensure sustained growth and reputation of the firm.
