Chemist (12 months renewable)
Summary
Perform lab tests on water, crude oil, and wastewater samples, maintain equipment, and manage lab inventory in a 12-month contract role.
Weare seeking a Chemist o join our Singapore team on a 12-month contract basis. This role supports customer water and crude sample testing.
Perform manual testing on crude oil, sour water, wastewater, cooling water, and boiler water samples.
Conduct the following tests:
- COD (Hach), TOC, Turbidity, pH, Conductivity
- FIA for Phenol
- FTIR for oil and grease in wastewater
- BOD, SOUR, OUR tests
- Prepare lab equipment and reagents prior to testing.
- Report and compile test data into the PSR database.
- Clean and maintain lab equipment after use.
- Handle samples such as Sour Water containing high levels of H₂S and ammonia, which may produce strong odors.
- Manage a small laboratory independently, including:
- Chemical and inventory management (purchasing, stock tracking)
- General lab housekeeping and upkeep
Requirement:
- Diploma or Degree holders
- 5 years of laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with the listed testing methods is an advantage but not mandatory, training will be provided.
- Office hours (Mon- Fri) but may need to work from 10am – 7pm once or twice a week.
