Chief Accounting Officer
York is seeking a high-performing Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join the Finance team. This role represents a unique opportunity to take a leadership position at a newly public, rapidly expanding aerospace. The CAO will serve as a key leader in establishing and maturing York’s public‑company financial infrastructure, building scalable processes, and partnering across the organization to support operational excellence and sustained growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will play a central role in developing a world‑class finance team and strengthening enterprise-wide financial discipline.
This role will be onsite in our office in Greenwood Village, CO.
Responsibilities:• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with US GAAP.• Ensure adherence to all regulatory reporting requirements, public company standards, and internal financial policies.• Provide strategic leadership for all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, inventory accounting, and tax.• Establish, enhance, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and evolving regulatory expectations.• Support executive leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning efforts.• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory bodies, and other third‑party partners.• Provide authoritative guidance on complex accounting matters, technical transactions, and emerging regulations (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842).• Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting organization to strengthen capabilities, build leadership bench strength, and support career development.• Partner closely with operations, legal, compliance, and program leadership to ensure financial considerations inform strategic and operational decision‑making.• Oversee financial system improvements, ERP enhancements, and process modernization, including implementation of best‑in‑class accounting practices within Oracle Fusion.
Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• CPA certification.• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.• 7+ years in leadership roles managing and developing accounting teams.• Experience working in a publicly traded company.• Strong expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and tax regulations.• Proficiency with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems.• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams and drive organizational improvement.• Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational leadership skills.• High integrity, accountability, and a strong results orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.• Prior experience as a CAO or equivalent senior accounting executive in a public company.• Manufacturing industry accounting experience.• Experience building or transforming accounting functions during periods of high growth or operational scaling.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of York’s total compensation package for employees. Pay range: $250,000 to $340,000 base salary annually.
This role is eligible to participate in our equity award program. Any award is discretionary and not guaranteed and may be contingent upon individual and/or Company performance. The amount, timing, and terms of any equity award will be determined in accordance with the Company’s equity incentive plan and applicable policies. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and accomplishment-specific awards.
