As a company within the Freedom Finance Holding Corp. group, we are looking for a Chief Compliance Officer /AMLCO to establish and lead our Compliance function in Cyprus, support business growth, and contribute to the group’s global development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and develop the Compliance and AML function, including management of the team;

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Cyprus and EU regulatory requirements, including CySEC requirements, MiCA, PSD2, AML/CFT, sanctions, market abuse, and data-protection regulations;

  • Act as the Company’s MLRO and oversee the AML/CFT framework, including KYC/KYB, client risk assessment, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting;

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls, risk assessments, and monitoring plans;

  • Serve as the main contact person for CySEC, MOKAS/FIU, external auditors, and other relevant authorities;

  • Support regulatory licensing, notifications, reporting, fit-and-proper processes, and other regulatory matters;

  • Advise senior management and business teams on regulatory, compliance, AML/CFT, and sanctions-related matters;

  • Prepare regular Compliance and MLRO reports for management and the Board, including identified risks, breaches, and remediation actions;

  • Conduct compliance monitoring, internal reviews, and control testing; ensure timely resolution of findings;

  • Deliver compliance and AML/CFT training and promote a strong culture of compliance across the Company;

  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure that the Company’s framework remains up to date;

  • Participate in group-wide and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field;

  • At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, regulatory, or risk-management roles within a regulated financial institution;

  • Experience in a AMLCO, Deputy MLRO, senior Compliance Officer, or similar role;

  • Proven experience in building, managing, and developing a compliance or AML team;

  • Strong knowledge of the Cyprus and EU regulatory framework, including CySEC requirements, MiCA, PSD2, AML/CFT legislation, sanctions, and market-abuse regulations;

  • Previous experience with MiCA and CASP/VASP regulatory frameworks;

  • CySEC Advanced Certificate and\or CySEC AML Compliance Officer Certificate;

  • AML/compliance certification such as CAMS, ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent will be an advantage;

  • Experience communicating with CySEC, MOKAS/FIU, auditors, or other regulators is preferred;

  • Experience with regulatory reporting, licensing, fit-and-proper assessments, and regulatory inspections will be an advantage;

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills;

  • Fluent English, written and spoken; Greek and other languages will be an advantage.
