Chief Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a self-driven Chief Database Administrator (DBA) to lead resiliency, performance, uptime, and security for enterprise databases. You will run day-to-day operations while partnering with external vendors and application teams to keep Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB stable and secure. Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB database environments
  • Maintain database stability, performance, availability, and security across enterprise systems
  • Coordinate with external vendors, managed service providers, and offshore support teams
  • Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call support model
  • Provide after-hours support for critical incidents, maintenance activities, and production releases
  • Act as a senior escalation point for database-related outages and performance issues
  • Ensure adherence to established SLA and operational support commitments
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues
  • Collaborate with application teams to support enterprise systems

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise Database Administration experience
  • Extensive expertise in Oracle Database Administration, including deep hands-on work with Oracle Database 19c
  • Strong experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard
  • Demonstrated strength with RMAN, Performance Tuning, and SQL and PL/SQL
  • Hands-on administration experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration experience
  • Background supporting large-scale mission-critical production systems
  • Proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience partnering with external vendors, managed service providers, and offshore support teams
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • English proficiency at B2 level (Upper-Intermediate) or higher
