We are seeking a Chief Engineer with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to maintaining world-class facilities and operational excellence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the oversight of all engineering and maintenance operations across the hotel, residences, and grounds.
• Assist in managing maintenance inventory, supplies, and procurement processes.
• Lead and support the maintenance team in executing preventive, routine, and emergency repairs.
• Maintain and oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems including HVAC, generators, fire systems, water treatment, and pool equipment.
• Ensure all equipment and systems (e.g., fire alarms, CCTV, elevators, sprinkler systems) are regularly tested, maintained, and compliant with safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain the physical condition of the property, including buildings, driveways, walkways, and landscaping.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, service logs, and equipment history.
• Coordinate and manage CapEx projects, including FF&E planning and execution.
• Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness programs, including hurricane response plans.
• Drive energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to optimize operational costs.
• Liaise with General Manager, ownership, and department heads regarding maintenance updates, inspections, and project planning.
• Ensure all permits, licenses, and certifications are obtained and renewed in a timely manner.
• Uphold company standards by ensuring engineering staff maintain proper grooming, uniforms, and safety practices.
• Support departmental budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance goals.
• Actively contributes to day-to-day operations while maintaining a focus on long-term planning and efficiency.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Mechanics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering/maintenance within hospitality or a related industry, with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in luxury hotel or resort environments preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor a diverse maintenance team.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and capital projects.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high operational standards.
