Chief Financial Officer — Job Description
Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer leads financial operations for Barker Management, provides accounting support to its affiliated developer, Valued Housing, and is the senior finance partner to the CEO and ownership. The role unites corporate accounting and property (site) accounting under one leader with a focus on supporting the site accounting team, strengthening checks and balances, and using software and AI to improve budgeting and reporting.
Barker Management manages approximately 8,000 affordable housing units across California. Valued Housing owns approximately 1,800 units, with more in predevelopment and construction. Most properties are financed with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), tax-exempt bonds, HUD and state or local soft loans, so the CFO must master the compliance, investor and lender reporting that this capital stack demands.
