Chief Financial Officer: Confidential Fintech Search

A private equity client is hiring a CFO for a fintech company to build its finance function and lead its banking and lending relationships.

The Opportunity

The company needs a finance leader with deep banking experience.

The CFO is the company's most urgent senior hire.

This is a build role. You will set up the finance team, own the bank and lender relationships that fund the business, and build the reporting and controls the company needs to scale.

What You Will Do

• Build and manage banking relationships that support the business
• Lead lending relationships and secure the capital needed to fund growth
• Own the company's credit models, including underwriting and risk oversight with the executive team
• Source, hire, and lead a controller and full accounting team
• Build audit-ready reporting and strong internal controls
• Work with auditors, outside advisors, and the board
• Deliver financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management to leadership and investors

What You Bring

Required

• Senior finance leadership experience at the CFO level or one step below
• A strong banking background, with existing bank and lender relationships
• Hands-on experience with credit models and credit risk
• A record of hiring controllers and building accounting teams from the ground up

Preferred

• Fintech or payments experience
• Public company finance experience
• Experience working with PE sponsors and boards
