Position Overview:

VALT Enterprizes, Inc. is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive financial leadership and help guide the company through its continued growth across defense, research and development (R&D), and commercial aerospace markets. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO will lead VALT’s financial strategy, planning, and financial management functions while developing the scalable financial systems, controls, and capabilities needed to support increasingly complex customer programs and business operations.

Serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership, the CFO will provide financial insight and guidance to inform business decisions, strengthen financial performance, manage financial and contractual risk, and support long-term growth. The CFO will oversee financial planning and analysis, cash flow, financial reporting, program finance, government contract accounting, and direct and indirect cost management while partnering across the organization to ensure VALT maintains the financial discipline and infrastructure necessary to successfully operate and scale within the aerospace and defense industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive financial leadership and strategic guidance in support of VALT’s business objectives, customer commitments, and long-term growth
  • Partner with the President/CEO and executive leadership on financial strategy, resource allocation, investment priorities, and key business decisions
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow planning, and financial performance reporting
  • Lead and support fundraising and capital-raising activities, including financial modeling, investor materials, due diligence, and engagement with prospective investors and capital partners
  • Oversee government contract accounting and financial management, including Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) and other contract structures, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and applicable contractual requirements
  • Manage direct and indirect cost structures, indirect rates, cost allocation, contract costing, billing, revenue recognition, and profitability across government and commercial programs
  • Partner with program teams to monitor budgets, forecasts, funding, cost performance, revenue, profitability, and financial risk
  • Lead financial support for government and commercial proposals, including cost estimating, pricing strategy, financial modeling, profitability analysis, and evaluation of contract economics
  • Partner with VALT’s outsourced accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective financial close processes, sound accounting practices, and strong internal controls
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, treasury activities, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and financial resource management
  • Lead financial compliance and audit readiness, including external audits, DCAA reviews, government inquiries, tax requirements, regulatory matters, and other applicable financial and government contracting requirements
  • Develop scalable financial systems, policies, controls, processes, and reporting capabilities to support compliance, increasing program complexity, and continued organizational growth

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related business or financial discipline from an accredited institution
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility for financial strategy, operations, planning, reporting, controls, and organizational financial performance
  • Significant financial leadership experience within aerospace, defense, government contracting, advanced technology, or another highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, financial reporting, and long-range financial planning
  • Significant experience with U.S. Government contract accounting and financial management, including CPFF and other government contract structures
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DCAA requirements, government contract cost principles, and federal contractor financial compliance
  • Experience managing direct and indirect cost structures, including cost pools, allocation methodologies, indirect rates, cost-charging practices, and allowable and unallowable costs
  • Demonstrated program financial management experience, including budgets, forecasts, funding, cost performance, revenue, profitability, financial risk, and EACs
  • Experience supporting government and commercial proposals, including cost estimating, pricing strategy, financial modeling, profitability analysis, and contract economics
  • Demonstrated experience establishing financial policies, internal controls, governance practices, and scalable financial processes
  • Ability to analyze complex financial, contractual, operational, and business challenges and provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership
  • Exceptional financial acumen, analytical judgment, executive presence, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, as required by program or customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related business or financial discipline
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other relevant professional financial certification
  • Prior CFO, Vice President of Finance, or comparable senior financial leadership experience within aerospace, defense, or government contracting
  • Experience supporting financial operations within a high-growth aerospace, defense, R&D, or advanced technology organization
  • Experience supporting fundraising or capital-raising activities, including financial modeling, investor materials, due diligence, or engagement with investors and capital partners
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) RDT&E programs, including SBIR or other federally funded research and development programs
  • Experience partnering with engineering and technical organizations supporting advanced aerospace systems, including hypersonic, propulsion, or other complex defense technologies
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and their applicability within U.S. Government contracting environments
  • Experience with DCAA audits, indirect rate development, incurred cost submissions, or other government contractor accounting and audit activities
  • Experience implementing, integrating, or scaling financial systems, ERP platforms, expense management systems, or financial reporting infrastructure
