Position Summary
Burns is seeking a Chief Growth Officer to lead the company through its next phase of growth. The sector leaders of Burns’ four major industry verticals will report into the Chief Growth Officer. The ideal candidate is a proven commercial leader. They should possess experience in workforce management and driving revenue growth through strategic initiatives. This individual will understand account management processes and be skilled in building high performing teams. The ideal candidate has spent significant time in engineering services, preferably in aviation and healthcare.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth and Market Expansion: The Chief Growth Officer will drive new customer sales and market expansion, targeting high-margin projects and strategic accounts. This entails developing a comprehensive business development strategy, establishing new strategic partnerships, and conducting market research to prioritize target geographies. The executive will also be responsible for building a local presence in high-potential markets through regional offices or partnerships, ensuring the company captures key clients and strategic opportunities.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years proven commercial/GTM leadership at scale in high growth environments.
- Success driving revenue expansion through strategic partnerships.
- Metrics-driven approach to improve sales productivity, performance, and predictability.
- Ability to operate with a “Doer – Seller” business model.
- Experience entering new industry verticals and/or launching new services.
- Experience in a high-growth, services revenue businesses.
- Customer-centric obsession; builds credibility and trust with customers & partners.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with exposure to C-suite and board level stakeholders.
- Passion for leading and growing a team, developing and recruiting key talent.
- Hands on leadership style and market present approach.
- Domain expertise in infrastructure/engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of public-sector contracting, infrastructure regulations, and compliance is preferred.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
