Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

We are looking, on behalf of our client, for an experienced and highly qualified Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the organisation's cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance programmes. The successful candidate will serve as an independent security leader responsible for protecting critical business assets, customer data, and payment infrastructures while ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy and governance framework.
  
• Lead compliance initiatives related to PCI DSS, ISO 27001, PCI CPoP, and Central Bank of Libya cybersecurity requirements.
  
• Oversee Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities, threat monitoring, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
  
• Direct incident response and crisis management efforts for cybersecurity events.
  
• Conduct independent security reviews and audits of technology projects and infrastructure prior to production deployment.
  
• Ensure adequate physical security controls for critical facilities, including data centres and card personalisation environments.
  
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and security training across the organisation.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  
• Master's degree in IT or MBA preferred.
  
• 10-12+ years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  
• Previous experience within FinTech, Banking, or Financial Services is highly desirable.
  
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CCSP are required.
  
• Fluent in both Arabic and English.
