Chief Lecturer- Traffic Safety
Strategy
· Assess long-term repair and replacement needs of electromechanical systems based on inspection trends and contractor reports.
· Contribute technical insights to infrastructure modification plans and recommend upgrades in line with asset sustainability and safety goals.
· Support strategic data integration into BMMS/Maximo to enable predictive maintenance and resource planning.
Operations
· Supervise daily, routine, and preventive maintenance activities per approved schedules, ensuring quality through site visits and checklists.
· Receive and respond to emergency maintenance requests from control centres, departments, and public authorities, coordinating swift action.
· Monitor contractor performance, validate joint measurements, and verify BoQ compliance prior to work approval.
· Attend site meetings for project handovers; prepare snag lists and submit to Director’s office through proper review channels.
· Coordinate NOC evaluations for road structure-related works, provide site-based assessments and technical recommendations.
· Inspect electromechanical systems, identify major repair needs, and supervise corrective actions in collaboration with subcontractors.
· Ensure safe conditions of mechanical systems at project sites and maintain alignment with departmental maintenance policies.
Product / Process Improvement
· Conduct technical assessments for installations (e.g., advertisement boards), evaluate power needs, and provide consumption estimates.
· Generate reports in BMMS and Maximo, feed asset data from new projects or field inspections into structured databases.
· Prepare repair estimates for accident damage and coordinate replacements with RTA and contractors.
· Propose and document material/equipment replacement needs based on wear analysis and stock review.
· Draft and submit documentation including reports, BoQs, cost estimates, and correspondence for structured decision-making.
· Physical Working Conditions
· Regular field visits to tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure under varying weather and operational conditions.
· On-call availability for emergency inspection and coordination.
· Combination of fieldwork and digital system operations, including BMMS and Maximo documentation.
