To include (as appropriate): Performing surgery and providing preoperative, perioperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for patients undergoing routine or urgent inpatient or ambulatory surgical procedures Provide care to Veteran patients and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure comprehensive management Provide wound care and be committed to limb preservation to our high-risk patients Perform forefoot, midfoot, and hindfoot surgery Provide peri-operative care, including but not limit to pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care Manage outpatient consults in a timely manner Manage podiatry clinic Providing appropriate supervision of trainees in all care settings and completing all medical records in accordance with Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of the medical staff Coordinating transfer of specialty-specific patients from/to other hospitals if necessary Collaborating with other departments and sections including, but not limited to, specialists, nursing staff, social services, utilization management, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate the care and/or discharge of surgical patient Providing specialty-specific call coverage for Veterans presenting after hours at night and on weekends Maintain an unrestricted medical license In addition, when appropriate, the physician will also perform the following: Participate in quality improvement and/or research activities Attend Medical Staff meetings Serve on Medical Staff committees Develop and maintain good working relationships with other hospital departments and administration Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
