Company: Subsidiary of a UK based Digital Bank

Experience: 10+ years

Location: India

About AsiaCap Investment Advisors:

AsiaCap Investment Advisors is a boutique investment advisory firm founded by highly experienced investment bankers and fund managers with distinguished careers at leading global financial institutions. The firm provides investment advisory, research and analytical services to a Singapore-based investment fund, advising on investments across financial services and other sectors.

One of the fund's investments is a fast-growing, UK-based digital bank with a balance sheet of approximately US$8 billion, authorised and regulated by the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). The bank is focused on transforming financial services through technology-led innovation, with a particular emphasis on serving mass-affluent and affluent customers. Its founding and leadership team brings together extensive experience from leading global institutions, including Apollo, UBS, McKinsey & Company, Barclays, HSBC and the Bank of England.

As part of its international expansion strategy, the bank is exploring significant opportunities in India, particularly across digital banking, wealth and investment management, lending and the broader fintech ecosystem.

Role Overview:

AsiaCap is seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to work closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, business development and execution, with a particular focus on supporting the UK digital bank's expansion into India.

This is a high-impact role offering direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of a differentiated financial services platform in India.

We are looking for an individual with outstanding intellectual ability, strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the capacity to operate across multiple complex workstreams.

The successful candidate should have the ambition, leadership potential and bandwidth to take on progressively greater responsibilities, with a clear opportunity to develop into a C-suite leadership role within the bank's Indian subsidiary as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Business Development:

- Partner with senior leadership to formulate and execute the bank's India strategy, including market entry, business development and long-term growth initiatives.

- Identify and evaluate opportunities across India's banking, fintech, wealth and investment management, and lending ecosystems.

- Conduct market assessments, competitive benchmarking, financial analysis and strategic evaluations to support business decisions.

- Develop business plans, financial models, strategic recommendations and scenario analyses for new products, partnerships and growth opportunities.

India Market Development and Partnerships:

- Support the development of the bank's India proposition, including its product strategy, operating model and market positioning.

- Identify, evaluate and facilitate strategic partnerships with banks, NBFCs, fintech companies, wealth managers, asset managers and other financial services institutions.

- Develop a strong understanding of India's evolving digital financial services landscape, including technology platforms, distribution models and emerging business opportunities.

- Support engagement with key industry stakeholders, advisers and institutional partners.

Business Execution and Transformation:

- Drive cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring effective coordination, accountability and timely execution.

- Work closely with senior management and functional teams across geographies to translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans.

- Identify operational inefficiencies and opportunities to improve productivity, scalability and business performance.

- Support the development of organisational structures, governance processes and operating frameworks as the India business evolves.

Leadership Support and Performance Management:

- Prepare high-quality executive presentations, board materials, strategic papers and management reports.

- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, business milestones and strategic initiatives.

- Support budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and business performance reviews.

- Act as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership, bringing independent perspectives, analytical rigour and sound commercial judgement to complex decisions.

Candidate Profile:

Experience and Qualifications:

- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, financial services or business transformation.

- Strong preference for candidates with experience at McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) or Bain & Company (MBB).

- Experience in banking, fintech, wealth management, investment management or lending businesses is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of the Indian fintech and financial services ecosystem, particularly in wealth and investment management, digital lending and technology-enabled financial services.

- Experience evaluating new business opportunities, developing market-entry strategies, building strategic partnerships or scaling financial services businesses would be a significant advantage.

- MBA from a leading business school preferred.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

- Exceptional intellectual horsepower, with the ability to understand complex issues quickly, think independently and develop commercially sound solutions.

- Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, combined with excellent financial modelling, problem-solving and presentation skills.

- High levels of intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex priorities, operate effectively under ambiguity and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and maturity to engage with senior executives, investors and external partners.

- A hands-on, execution-oriented approach, with the ability to move seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and detailed implementation.

- High levels of integrity, ownership, resilience and personal drive.

- Significant leadership potential, ambition and the capacity to grow into a senior executive or C-suite position as the India business develops.

What We Offer:

This is a distinctive opportunity for a high-calibre professional to work closely with an accomplished international leadership team and play an instrumental role in developing a new-generation financial services platform in India.

The role offers:

- Direct exposure to senior leadership and experienced global banking and investment professionals.

- An opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and development of a UK-regulated digital bank's India operations.

- Involvement in high-impact initiatives spanning digital banking, fintech, wealth management, investment management and lending.

- Significant autonomy, responsibility and exposure to complex strategic and commercial decisions.

- A compelling long-term career trajectory, with the potential to transition into a C-suite leadership position within the Indian subsidiary, subject to performance and the evolution of the business.

We are seeking an individual who combines exceptional intellectual capability with entrepreneurial drive, commercial judgement and the ambition to help build and lead a significant financial services business in India.
