About Gaia

Gaia’s vision is to fundamentally change our relationship with medicine.

We have created a personalized drug delivery platform that turns the daily chore of taking medication into a monthly ritual. For chronic medications where missed doses can have serious or potentially life-threatening health implications, Gaia makes taking medication perfectly, simple.

Our platform replaces the mental burden of adherence to give us more time, energy, and attention for what matters. We believe treatment should work not only in the body, but in the context of our lives.

We’re initially targeting hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for perimenopause and menopause to launch our drug delivery platform. Every woman will experience menopause in her life, and more than 80% experience symptoms that damage their physiology, quality of life, and longevity. The treatment is hormone replacement therapy, and the current delivery modes are… subpar. The HRT market is rapidly growing following new FDA guidelines in 2026, and Gaia has partnered with leading OB-GYNs who have validated that our platform will become the preferred way for women to receive hormone treatment.

We’re assembling our founding team in San Francisco to reimagine how medicine fits into our lives. If you want to build at the intersection of breakthrough science and deep human empathy, come join us.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Chief of Staff to serve as a trusted thought partner to our CEO and help turn Gaia’s ambitions into results. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you’ll help shape priorities, improve decision-making and keep the company focused and accountable. You’ll build context across the business, bring an independent point of view and take ownership of important work that spans teams.

The role combines company strategy and business operations with direct ownership of people operations administration and executive support for our CEO. Success requires strong judgment, exceptional organization and the confidence to challenge assumptions, navigate competing priorities and follow through at every level—from a consequential company decision to the details of a well-run meeting. This is an onsite position in San Francisco with regular travel with the CEO.

What You’ll Own

  • Be a trusted thought partner to the CEO. Contribute to company strategy, evaluate opportunities and bring clear recommendations to important decisions. Connect perspectives across the business, pressure-test assumptions and help translate ambition into focused action.

  • Drive alignment and accountability across the leadership team. Translate company goals into clear priorities, owners and milestones. Lead planning discussions and progress reviews, maintain visibility into commitments and ensure decisions lead to action. Work with leaders to resolve dependencies, navigate tradeoffs and sustain momentum.

  • Lead important work across the company. Own special projects spanning supply chain, pharmacy, formulation, brand, product, contracts and partnerships. Define the problem, develop an approach, bring together the right people and drive implementation. Take responsibility for work that crosses functional boundaries or needs an owner.

  • Strengthen executive communication and relationships. Partner with the CEO on investor, partner and team engagements, shaping materials, recommendations and intended outcomes. Support fundraising, diligence and investor follow-up. Communicate decisions clearly and represent the CEO in meetings or projects where appropriate.

  • Own people operations administration. Manage onboarding, offboarding, employee records and recurring people processes. Coordinate with outside providers and internal owners, handle sensitive information with care and build reliable processes that support the team as Gaia grows.

  • Provide thoughtful executive support. Coordinate scheduling, travel, expenses and meeting logistics with an understanding of company priorities. Travel with the CEO, prepare for key engagements and manage follow-through so conversations and commitments translate into progress.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in business operations, strategy and operations, an early-stage startup, consulting, program management or a similarly demanding role, with demonstrated ownership of projects from planning through execution.

  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and sound judgment, including the ability to learn quickly, make decisions with incomplete information, engage experts and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • High agency and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the resourcefulness to work independently and take ownership of both strategic projects and administrative responsibilities.

  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-through; able to manage multiple workstreams, clarify priorities, build trust across teams and navigate disagreement constructively.

  • Strong working proficiency with AI tools, spreadsheets, presentation tools and project management systems, including using data to inform decisions and organize work.

Additional Experience We Value

  • Experience building processes or launching initiatives in an early-stage environment.

  • Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, consumer products or complex physical operations.

  • Experience working closely with founders or senior leaders, with exposure to fundraising, investor communications, people operations administration, executive support, contracts or vendor management.

Compensation

Gaia is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary range for this role is $115,000 – $190,000. Compensation is determined based on your qualifications and experience. Our total compensation package also includes generous equity in Gaia.

Benefits

Gaia offers the following benefits, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA and FSA options

  • One Medical membership, 24/7 virtual care, and mental health support

  • Generous paid time off, company holidays, and sick time

  • Life and Disability Insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Pre-tax commuter benefits for transit and parking

Building Gaia

Like our products, we are building Gaia by design.

The quality of the company should match the ambition of the science. At this stage, hiring is one of the most consequential forms of company design. Every person who joins Gaia will shape what we build, how we build it, and what it feels like to work here.

We look for people who care deeply about the quality of their work and the people they build alongside. People who move with urgency without lowering the bar, who are ambitious without losing their humanity, and who want their work to matter beyond the next milestone. We want to build a company that can last for hundreds of years and make life better for the generations that follow.

We’re assembling our founding team in San Francisco. The people who join now will help launch our first product in late 2027, prove an entirely new model of care, and define what Gaia becomes.
