Chief of Staff, North America Consumer Channel

Location: Open to candidates in Rio Rancho, NM or Vancouver, WA.
The Chief of Staff, Consumer Channel, serves as the strategic right hand to the Consumer Channel Vice President. Translating vision into an integrated operating plan and leading cross‑functional project and program management to drive growth across HP’s full portfolio in the consumer channel. This role owns the business cadence (QBRs/Weekly Ops, pipeline and forecast reviews), ensures the accuracy and insightfulness of reporting and executive deliverables, and orchestrates internal and external engagements. This includes partner summits, conferences, and retailer touchpoints —so leaders are prepared and outcomes are achieved. As a trusted advisor and confidant to the VP, the Chief Staff provides thought leadership, governance, and issue/risk management; aligns KPIs and budgets; establishes mechanisms for accountability and decision‑making; and represents the VP when needed to advance priorities, strengthen retailer experience, and enable strong commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Serve as trusted advisor to the VP on strategic priorities and organizational decisions.
- Translate long-term business strategy into executable operating plans.
- In partnership with Business Management, identify research, tools, analysis required to achieve objectives for complex, high-impact business strategy initiatives.
- Design structured analytical approaches and develop actionable project strategies and tactics.
- Formulate recommendations to optimize business and financial performance across the channel.
- Operational Excellence:
- Own the business operating cadence, including sales staff (weekly and F2F meetings, category and account reviews, Exec QBRs, MBRs, pipeline and forecast reviews, special programs (ex: attach acceleration, marketplace strategy), and other executive deliverables.
- Facilitate regular strategic planning reviews and follow-ups to foster collaboration and accountability.
- Cross-Functional Program Management:
- Lead and coordinate large, cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of projects and partner commitments (example Account Long Term Business Planning / 4P).
- Drive adoption of strategic initiatives and operational improvements across teams.
- Executive Advisory & Governance:
- Advise business executives on strategy formulation, risk management, and new growth opportunities, including Ambition plans.
- Provide thought leadership by introducing innovative methods, frameworks, and best practices for strategic analysis and recommendations.
- Represent the VP in meetings and decision-making forums when required.
- Team Engagement & Collaboration:
- Partner closely with VP to drive employee engagement and strengthen team culture
- Leverage collaboration and automation solutions to enable team connectivity, alignment & smooth operating rhythms to meet business objectives more effectively.
- External Engagement:
- Plan and support key external events, including partner conferences, summits, and retailer engagements.
- Strengthen partner experience and alignment with HP’s strategic priorities.
- Portfolio & Performance Management:
- Apply strategic and management consulting frameworks to implement a portfolio approach for evaluating and managing diverse business units, platforms, and products.
- Collaborate across businesses, functions, and regions to ensure strategies integrate with corporate and divisional priorities, systems, and processes.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in strategy, planning, operations, market research, or a related field.

The base pay range for this role is $100,000 to $144,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
