Chief Operating Officer (COO) / General Manager – Solar Operations
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven **Chief Operating Officer (COO) / General Manager – Solar Operations** to oversee and manage the company’s overall Solar PV operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Solar PV projects, including project planning, tendering, procurement, installation, manpower, cost control, project profitability, client management and project completion.
This is a senior management position that requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and hands-on experience in managing Solar PV projects and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the company’s overall **Solar PV project operations**.
* Manage projects from **tender / quotation → contract → design → procurement → installation → testing & commissioning → handover**.
* Lead and manage Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Technicians, Workers and Subcontractors.
* Monitor and control project **costs, manpower, materials and schedules**.
* Monitor project **profitability and gross margins** and take corrective action where necessary.
* Liaise and maintain good working relationships with **Main Contractors, Developers, Consultants, Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors**.
* Oversee procurement, material planning, delivery and subcontractor coordination.
* Ensure projects comply with relevant **BCA, MOM, WSH, EMA, SP Group** and applicable Solar PV requirements.
* Manage **Project Variations, Progress Claims, Variation Orders (VO), Back Charges, Defects and other commercial matters**.
* Monitor project progress and resolve technical, operational and site-related issues in a timely manner.
* Establish and implement effective **Solar Operations SOPs, processes and reporting systems**.
* Support the company in new **Solar PV tenders, quotations and business development opportunities**.
* Review project performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
* Provide regular reports to the Director on **project progress, project costs, manpower, cash flow, risks and profitability**.
* Take overall responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered **on time, within budget and according to the required quality standards**.
