This position is designated as SES, Career-Reserved. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level II with a salary range of $204,122 to $216,010 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. Oversees daily priorities and investigates issues to establish the nature and scope of identified problem areas and solutions.
Performs critical analysis of key mission support throughout the Agency to identify ways in which those functions can be improved to help the Agency perform its mission, implement its policies, and achieve its goals.
Develops and adheres to a strategic plan with measurable outcome metrics; creates and applies a documented process for rapid, but fully coordinated and vetted, policy formulation.
Serves as a Food and Nutrition Administration liaison with other USDA Mission Areas, Federal agencies, and private industry to establish a collaborative effort to address the broad issues and problems that the agency confronts.
Works closely with a variety of leaders; contacts may be made on behalf of the Administrator and is crucial to facilitate continued dialogue on sensitive issues, gathers input, and seeks understanding and acceptance for Agency policies and actions.
Establishes communication and process controls that foster productive relationships and consistent and efficient processes within, and with those outside the agency.
