Chief Program Officer (m/f/d)
Project/Program Management
- Owns the entire project/program portfolio, ensuring prioritization aligns with company strategy, capacity, and financial goals
- Maintains a realistic, continuously updated delivery plan coordinated closely with software engineering leadership
- Provides visibility into program health and its impact on company performance
- Acts as the escalation point for strategic customers in relation to program performance
- Facilitates decision-making for trade-offs, resourcing, roadblocks, and cross-department dependencies
- Drives continuous improvement in delivery speed, predictability, and quality
- Oversees project-level budgeting, cost tracking, margin analysis, and revenue recognition inputs
- Identifies cross-program risks and implements mitigation strategies
- Promotes a culture of accountability, transparency, and customer-centric delivery
- Participates in tender evaluation, offer preparations, partner negotiations, long-term planning, mergers/acquisitions integration programs, and organizational design
- Fosters collaboration among Engineering, Sales, Offer Management, Marketing, In-Service Support and Product teams, by working closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), In-Service Support lead and Head of Product Management, while reporting to the ATM Director to align operational plans with strategic goals
- Oversees project managers and program managers
- Builds, leads, and mentors a high-performing project/program team
- Defines career paths, hiring standards, and training programs for program and project management staff
- Ensures consistent project management practices across all project managers and delivery teams
- Collaborates with the ATM Business Unit Director to set revenue targets, budgets, and financial forecasts
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent
- Professional experience in the aviation domain: 10+ years of continuous experience with project management, program leadership or operations in a software or technology environment
- At least 5 years of experience in project and people management, experience in leading other project managers, so it would be a manager of other managers,
- Nice to have: being mentor to other junior managers and strong leadership
- Experience in client leadership with large teams and a high volume of products
- Proven track record in delivering projects/programs in a highly international business
- Experience in international markets and cross-cultural business environments
- Experience working closely with senior executives (C-level) and aligning delivery with strategic objectives
- Deep expertise in program governance, portfolio management, resource planning, risk management, and project delivery frameworks
- Language skills: excellent command of English and German languages
- Highly organized, structured, and disciplined in execution. Able to create and maintain delivery plans and reporting structures across many parallel initiatives
- Understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and revenue recognition related to project delivery
