Chief Security
Summary
The Chief Security officer runs day-to-day security at a resort hotel: monitoring all security activity, managing and training the security team, coordinating fire prevention and emergency/evacuation procedures, and liaising with local authorities. The role requires hospitality supervisory experience, English proficiency, and basic MS Excel/Word skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Security Responsibilities
- Monitor the entire security activities of the hotel.
- Consulting, advising and coordinating to build security systems
- Recruitment and professional training for employees
- Manage and supervise the activities of the security department according to the process
- Coordinate the relevant departments in the operating process
- Contact nearby or local authorities for coordination when needed
- Combine all the departments in the fire prevention and evacuation of guests and staff in hotel incidents
- Coordinate with the fire prevention police to prepare internal training courses in the hotel
- Directly solve security incidents in the hotel and report to the superior promptly
- Maintain and ensure the system of security equipment always works well
- Property management and property use under the Security and Hotel Division
- Manage the workflow, adjust as needed, ensure the security for the hotel
- Monitor and speed up jobs related to delivering letters and messages, ensuring the service to all guests, parts of the hotel
- Responsible for the assignment of customer service requests and weekly work schedules for employees
- Control important events or issues in the course of work
- Control the activities of vehicles in and out of the hotel
- Supervising and checking the guest service work of staff
- Ensuring the work area is always orderly, the equipment to serve customers must be in good working condition and ready
- Report on incidents of security and order in the hotel area
Team Management
- Interview, select and recruit Security guard/supervisor.
- Identify and develop team members with potential
- Conduct performance review with the team
- Constantly monitor team members’ appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism
- Prepare detailed induction programs for new employees
- Develop, conduct maintain all staff training programs for team members, focusing on their development needs, providing them with new skills to meet the job tasks
- Conduct monthly departmental meetings to provide information to team members, obtain their feedback, rectify operation issues and provide a regular forum for department communication
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features
- Be fully conversant with hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
- Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management
- Report for duty on time wearing clean and complete uniform at all times
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management
- Responsible for recruiting and organizing training for personnel within the department, ensuring that staffing needs are met and team capabilities are developed
- Prepare monthly/quarterly reports on the department's asset management in compliance with regulations, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Other Duties: Carry out other duties as reasonably assigned by the Department Head or Management, including providing support to other positions/departments when required, in alignment with professional competencies and the hotel's policies and regulations.
Profile
Knowledge and Experience
- Diploma education or similar educational qualification
- Clean criminal record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory position in the hotel or related field
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
- Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel & Word
