About Us:
Elisa for Life is an insurtech startup modernizing how permanent life insurance is sold. For 100+ years, the industry has relied on cold calls and door-to-door sales. That doesn’t work for today’s digital-first consumer.
Our product, ELISA is a digital advisor that embeds on life insurance agents’ websites, giving consumers a seamless, self-directed buying experience while generating high-quality leads for our agents 24/7. Our founding team helped pioneer this experience direct to consumer, now, with Elisa for Life, we are bringing this to the B2B2C space. V1 of the product is done and we are onboarding our first clients. We've bootstrapped our way to a strong MVP and our first customers through persistence, creativity, and an unwavering belief in our vision. Now we're ready for the next stage of growth.
We're looking for a talented, hands-on CTO to help transform a promising product into a scalable platform. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technology, building the engineering foundation for growth, and helping lead Elisa for Life from an early-stage startup to a successful, enduring company.
The Role
We're looking for an exceptional full-stack engineer to join Elisa for Life as our first CTO, with the opportunity to become a Co-Founder.
This role begins with meaningful founder-level equity and is designed to transition into a full-time, salaried position as we generate revenue and raise additional capital. We already have customers lined up, so we're confident we'll begin generating revenue quickly. Our goal is to build to a nice salary sooner rather than later.
What You’ll Do:
Our immediate priority is to strengthen and refine our existing product so we can successfully launch our first customers and deliver an exceptional experience.
From there, you'll work closely with our founder and marketing team to gain a deep understanding of the life insurance industry, our customers' needs, and how our platform creates value. Together, we'll shape the technology foundation required to support our long-term vision of building a scalable, profitable, and category-defining company. Some immediate needs will include:
• Deploying and customizing ELISA on client (agent) websites
• Overseeing UI/UX improvements based on user behavior and marketing channels
• Maintaining and scaling our database and lead distribution systems
• Exploring bringing AI to bear in driving and informing the ELISA product.
