Child First Aid (CFA) Trainer / Instructor

Summary

Deliver first-aid training and assessments for childcare providers, covering CPR, AED use, and emergency procedures in compliance with Singapore’s SRFAC standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theory and practical training and assessments for the Child First Aid (CFA) Provider Course in strict compliance with SRFAC standards.
  • Instruct and assess topics including Basic Cardiac Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (BCLS+AED), adult, and child/infant first aid, bandaging, tourniquet application, and administration of adrenaline auto-injectors and MDI spacers with facemasks.
  • Adhere strictly to course syllabi, training schedules, and prescribed trainer-to-learner/equipment ratios.
  • Maintain safety, health, and hygiene standards, including proper sanitization and maintenance of adult, child, and infant manikins.
  • Secure all theory and practical assessment papers post-course as required by SRFAC guidelines.

Job Requirements &Qualifications

Candidates must hold SRFAC-accredited certifications (Foreign First Aid/Instructor certificates are not recognized under SRFAC guidelines):

  • Valid SFA Instructor Status:
  • Must have passed the SRFAC SFA Instructor Proficiency Test (IPT) OR completed the full SFA Instructor Course (with 2 attachments within 6 months at an accredited pioneer SFA ITCs).

    Must maintain a valid SFA Provider Certificate.

  • Valid BCLS+AED Instructor Certificate.
  • ACTA/ACLP
  • Valid Child First Aid (CFA) Qualification:
  • Holds a valid CFA Instructor Certificate OR a valid CFA Provider Certificate / Child First Aid Training Providers' Immersion Course (Bridging Course).

  • Active Teaching Record:
  • In-depth knowledge of first aid practices, CPR, and emergency medical procedures.

    Prior experience delivering first aid or related training is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience &Skills

  • Prior experience delivering adult learning and practical assessments in accredited training centres.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically healthy and capable of demonstrating CPR techniques on floor manikins and handling practical equipment.
  • Familiarity with SRFAC requirements for early childhood educator training is an advantage.
