Job Summary
Prepare nutritious meals and manage kitchen operations to support the health and wellbeing of infants, children, and staff in a childcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare healthy meals including breakfast, lunch, and snacks for infants and childcare children to meet their nutritional needs
- Order and manage kitchen ingredients and supplies to ensure availability and reduce waste
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area to comply with health and safety standards
- Prepare meals for staff to support overall childcare center operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrated experience cooking for large groups, preferably in a preschool or childcare setting
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements for young children to ensure meal quality and appropriateness
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment to support safe food preparation
- Reliability and punctuality to ensure consistent meal service and kitchen operations
