Childrens Extensive Services DSP
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older and not a parent or guardian of the individual served.
Experience:
Previous experience in child care, health care, education, human services, or personal care preferred.
Other Requirements:
- A criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards.
- A valid Colorado Driver’s license.
- Verified legal status to work in the United States.
- Automobile insurance that meets minimum requirements as set forth in State of Colorado Regulation if transporting individuals.
- Basic computer ability.
NOTE: The CES Direct Support Professional-Float is responsible for developing his or her own schedule in line with the needs of the program. As a Part-Time DSP-Float, there is no guarantee of a regular schedule and the position is part-time at 29 hours or less per week. Obtaining hours is the responsibility of the DSP-Float. This includes calling, emailing or otherwise corresponding with the Coordinators or the Program Directors to determine hours. DSP-Floats will work in a variety of locations and a variety of shifts. . If at any time the PT DSP-Float determines they would like more than 29 hours per week, they are to contact the Program Director for additional help in determining their schedule. There is no guarantee of hours in this position. Full-time staff working float positions shall be responsible for ensuring they work the required hours to maintain benefits.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention; requires frequent standing and walking; lifting and transferring individuals, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling; ability to work in environments that could include changes in temperature/humidity, dust, odors, noise, various allergens (both chemical and food related) etc.; ability to work with individuals with disabilities, a variety of illnesses, and medical conditions; working indoors, outdoors, and in vehicles; works around and with others, and alone; may have to walk on slippery and /or uneven walking surfaces; expected to assist individuals receiving services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, bathing, cooking and other basic life skills.
