What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise and engage children in a safe, caring, and welcoming environment.
  • Lead games, activities, crafts, and age-appropriate experiences that keep children active and having fun.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of every child through active supervision at all times.
  • Assist with diaper changes, toileting, and infant feedings as needed.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe Childwatch/YKIDS area.
  • Follow YMCA policies, childcare standards, and abuse risk management procedures.
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Passion for working with children of all ages.
  • Positive, patient, energetic, and dependable attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lead activities while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and child abuse screenings.
  • Ability to obtain required First Aid, CPR/AED, and required YMCA certifications before the start date.
