CHROMATE 4 OPERATOR (10913)
Job Summary:
A Plating Machine Operator is responsible for catching customer parts coming out of zinc and choosing the correct chromate finish and bake time per work order.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read production schedules to determine setups of equipment and machines.
- Measure or weigh materials, using rulers, calculators, and scales.
- Position containers to receive parts, and load or unload materials in containers, using fork trucks
- Adjust dials to regulate the flow of current and voltage supplied to terminals to control plating processes.
- Immerse workpieces in solutions for specified times, remove them at the correct times and inspect the outcomes to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metal to protect or decorate surfaces.
- Place plated or coated materials on racks and transfer them to ovens to dry for specified periods of time.
