CI Engineer
Position Summary
This position is responsible to drive improvement across the sites as a member of the Corporate Continuous Improvemnt Team. Also to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by delivering business results and providing sustainable capabilities aligned to business goals and objectives. Provide hands-on leadership and support to strengthen continuous improvement capability and accelerate business performance - with emphasis on priorities aligned to a site or multiple sites.
Essential Duties and Tasks

- Act as a thought leader, coach, and mentor for the application of CI as a system for solving problems, managing processes, and developing people across the sites
- Lead the ongoing development of CI fundamentals and problem-solving capability to strengthen the foundation for effective operations and sustainable performance improvement of capabilities across the sites
- Lead and support identification and application of best practices, operating standards, and metrics
- Deploy Managing for Daily Improvement as the lean management system across the sites
- Facilitate the identification, prioritization, preparation, execution, and follow up on CI initiatives across the sites
- Train and mentor key people across the sites on lean manufacturing principles
- Conduct frequent operational data analysis and reviews to support identification and prioritization process for CI activities
- Develop and implement an audit program to ensure proper deployment and sustainment of all CI activities
- Actively build and maintain effective working relationships with operations and business leaders at all levels
- Meet the above responsibilities with ongoing communications and dialogue on the intranet portal
- Support the development and maintenance of each site's CI Plan
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or above from a four-year university in Engineering.
- Certificates in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma are a strong plus.
- Experience working in manufacturing operations is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience as a lean practitioner through an internship or co-op, is a strong plus.
- Excellent English language fluency is a must, additional language capabilities are a strong plus.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to organize and conduct data analysis on operational data.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
- Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
- Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
Expected typical travel by car, plane with some overnight stays estimated at up to 50% in a typical month.
