Role purpose
We are seeking a Senior CIAM Technical Analyst to support retail banking CIAM and authentication delivery across advisory and system integration engagements. The role will bridge technical analysis, business analysis, testing and implementation support, with a focus on the latest Ping Identity platforms, API integration, token management and product migration.
The role requires 10+ years’ relevant experience, direct retail banking experience, strong communication skills and practical experience using AI to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical analysis for CIAM, IAM, authentication, API security and token management requirements.
- Run workshops with business, security, architecture, engineering, testing and product stakeholders.
- Translate requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, integration scenarios and test cases.
- Support Ping Identity migration activities, including current-state analysis, gap assessment, migration planning, testing, defect triage and cutover readiness.
- Analyse and validate authentication flows involving PingAccess, PingFederate, Ping SaaS/PaaS, OAuth2, MTLS, JWTs and refresh tokens.
- Support implementation of technology changes across APIs, gateways, access policies, token handling and identity attributes.
- Support functional, integration, regression, API, BDD and migration testing.
- Use Splunk, Dynatrace and log analysis to investigate authentication, API, token and integration issues.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, test evidence, defect records, decision logs and stakeholder updates.
- Apply AI-enabled approaches to improve delivery tasks, including requirements analysis, test case generation, documentation, defect analysis and knowledge management.
Required skills and experience
- 10+ years’ experience across technical analysis, business analysis, testing, IAM/CIAM delivery, API integration or related technology roles.
- Direct retail banking experience, preferably across digital banking, customer identity, secure API integration or platform migration.
- Strong working knowledge of Ping Identity platforms, including PingAccess, PingFederate, Ping SaaS and PaaS architecture.
- Experience with CIAM/IAM product migration or platform modernisation.
- Strong understanding of OAuth2, MTLS, JWT, refresh tokens, token lifecycle, session handling and authentication policy design.
- Practical experience supporting technology changes involving APIs, API gateways, token management, access policies and identity integrations.
- Experience with tools and platforms such as Apigee, Kong API Gateway, Akamai, AWS EKS, Java/Spring Boot, Git, Postman, LaunchDarkly, JIRA, Confluence and MIRO.
- Testing experience across Selenium, SpecFlow, C#, BDD, NUnit, SQL, Jenkins and TFS.
- Strong troubleshooting capability using Splunk, Dynatrace, log analysis and LDAP explorers.
- Experience using AI tools or developing AI-assisted delivery assets such as prompts, workflows, templates, test-generation approaches or documentation accelerators.
