About the Role

The CIB Business Execution Senior Manager plays a critical leadership role within the CIB Chief Operating Office (COO) organization and is responsible for leading multiple strategic functions within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) portfolio. This role provides leadership across a diverse set of enterprise capabilities that support Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), including Vendor Management, Access Support & Oversight, Business Resiliency, Information Research & Presentation Design Services, Digital and Physical Records Management, Controls Procedure Management, International Governance, Business Management, and Sustainability initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and operational leadership across these functions while partnering with senior executives to drive business priorities, strengthen governance and controls, improve organizational effectiveness, and deliver scalable operating models supporting Wells Fargo's global Corporate & Investment Banking businesses.

This leader will be accountable for driving transformational initiatives, enhancing risk and control frameworks, optimizing organizational capacity, and ensuring effective execution of key regulatory, governance, and business management priorities. The role requires a strong understanding of CIB products and operations, exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, and demonstrated experience leading large, diverse teams in a highly matrixed environment.

In this role you will:

CAO Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight across multiple CAO functions supporting CIB businesses globally, including Banking, Markets, and Commercial Real Estate.
  • Drive operational excellence, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement across all supported functions.
  • Lead large, geographically diverse teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
  • Develop and execute long-term strategies that align with CIB and enterprise objectives.

CAO Strategy & Transformation

  • Lead strategic initiatives on behalf of CIB CAO leadership, including organizational design, capacity planning, target operating model development, and business transformation programs.
  • Drive horizontal reviews across key themes including risk and control effectiveness, process optimization, workforce strategy, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with senior leaders across CIB and enterprise functions to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and scale.
  • Deliver executive-level insights and recommendations that support business decision-making and strategic planning.

International Governance & Business Management

  • Provide oversight of governance and business management activities supporting international legal entities, branches, and management committees.
  • Ensure effective execution of governance forums through agenda planning, material preparation, action tracking, KPI reporting, and management information dashboards.
  • Support executive briefing preparation for Senior Management Function (SMF), regulatory, and leadership engagements.
  • Drive accountability for governance actions and strategic initiatives across international businesses and legal entities.
  • Lead coordination of key programs, including the CIB Sustainability Program and other enterprise-wide priorities.

Risk, Controls & Regulatory Management

  • Strengthen risk and control frameworks across supported functions while ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Control Management teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Drive sustainable control execution and governance practices that support a strong risk culture.
  • Ensure readiness for audits, regulatory examinations, and control reviews.

Metrics, Reporting & Executive Management

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, KPIs, KRIs, and operational health indicators.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and impactful communications to senior management and governance forums.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder Management & Influence

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders across CIB, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Corporate Functions.
  • Influence decision-making across a complex matrixed organization without direct authority.
  • Represent the organization in senior leadership forums and governance committees.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver enterprise-wide initiatives and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years Management or leadership experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience within Corporate & Investment Banking, preferably across leading global financial institutions.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale operations, business management, COO, CAO, governance, or strategic execution functions.
  • Strong leadership experience managing managers and senior leaders, including Vice Presidents and above.
  • Deep understanding of Corporate & Investment Banking products, including Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Equities, Derivatives, and Commercial Real Estate.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management, controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong experience driving organizational transformation, operating model design, and strategic change initiatives.
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams and leading global delivery models.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain talent while building high-performing teams.
