This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. Prior experience in restaurant settings, especially with menu planning and catering, is highly valued. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
• Assist with menu planning and meal presentation to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
• Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and cooking appliances
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchens
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
• Experience with menu planning and catering services is a plus
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of food industry practices including food service and fine dining standards
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
• Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is advantageous but not required
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting
• Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant setting
• Night and weekend availability
• Dependable with reliable transportation
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Good communication and time management skills
• Valid food handlers permit or ability to obtain one
• Black pants and black non slip shoes
• Coachable and willing to learn
