About the Role

Filmhouse Cinemas is seeking a Cinema Manager to oversee daily cinema operations, improve profitability, manage staff performance, control operational costs and ensure excellent guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the cinemas.
• Support the Business Manager in driving daily retail profitability by maximising revenue per head (RPH) and minimising shrinkage and wastage.
• Proactively manage daily operational costs, controllable expenses, third-party contractors and team members.
• Plan, execute and manage operational tasks within the cinema.
• Provide feedback to the Business Manager and colleagues on ways to improve cinema operations while championing the needs of guests and team members.
• Maximise employee performance through teamwork, motivation, coaching and effective performance management.
• Undertake administrative tasks, prepare staff shift rotas and organise staff remuneration.
• Work with the Film Booking Department to propose and prepare performance schedules that meet business plan objectives.
• Drive daily retail profitability by maximising RPH and minimising shrinkage and wastage.
• Ensure the cinemas meet set audience targets each week or period.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations management at a supervisory level; retail experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer relationship and management skills.
• Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to adapt to varying situations.
• Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and apply specialised knowledge to everyday situations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety.
• Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
