As an Inclusion Aide, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to promoting inclusion, safety, and respect for all children. You’ll provide one-on-one support and facilitate activities that engage children and their families in our community, ensuring every child’s recreation experience is welcoming and positive.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervise one or multiple children, promoting inclusion, safety, and respect
- Facilitate various activities that promote physical activity, wellness, and positive personal development
- Build positive, stable relationships with children and communicate regularly with their families/caregivers
- Provide reasonable accommodations such as breaks, additional time, small group settings, and preferential seating
- Set up adaptive or specialized equipment, ensuring accessibility for all participants
- Maintain a friendly, supportive atmosphere and assist with behavior management
- Follow safety protocols including first aid administration and incident reporting
- Ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures and maintain program documentation
- Set up and clean activity spaces according to site expectations
- Report concerns or needs to Program Supervisor/Manager promptly
- Collaborate with Park District and School District staff as needed
- Serve as a positive representative of the Dundee Township Park District
What You Bring:
- Preferred enrollment in college/university courses related to Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children who require special accommodations and leading youth activities
- Excellent customer service, verbal communication, and listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and act rationally in high-stress or emergency situations
- Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred but not required
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred (training available if needed)
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and teamwork
Schedule:
Hours vary depending on programming; position located at various locations within Dundee Township Park District boundaries. Seasonal, part-time hours.
