Circles Program Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates a faith-based poverty-reduction program, managing staff, volunteers, and community outreach while aligning with Catholic ministry values and reporting to diocesan leadership.
The Circles Program Coordinator oversees the Circles chapter, its staff, and all its volunteers, ensuring compliance with the lead organization’s policies/procedures. They build community support around the Circles model of poverty reduction, have experience working with diverse socio-economic communities, a deep knowledge of poverty, skills in community organizing/volunteer management, and an awareness of the social service resources in the community.
Ministerial Character:
The Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (The Diocese) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Actively recruits members of the Coastal Bend Chapter team including volunteers of the Resource Teams, Training Facilitators, clients (Circle Leaders), mentors (Allies)
- Conduct interviews and select potential Circle Leaders and Allies (focus is largely on Resource Team Chairs and Allies while the coach focus is on Leaders)
- Manage applicable staff/volunteers which include the Program Success Coach (Circles Coach), stipend positions and Resource Team chairs
- Community Outreach discussing poverty awareness and advocating for a solution through the Circles program (in direct collaboration with the Director of Mission Advancement)
- Managing the budget provided by Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi
- Curriculum planning, creating a strategic year at a glance calendar that includes the start/end of each cohort, the dates of each Circle Leader trainings/Ally trainings, coordination of speakers, etc.
- Data maintenance and reporting, overseeing the registration/data collection of Circle Leaders, Allies, and volunteers ensuring up to date reporting to both CUSA and the Lead Organization of Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi
- Support the Circles Coach as they match Circle Leaders and Allies
- Primary liaison for CUSA and lead organization of Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, representing the Coastal Bend Chapter
Mental/Physical Demands:
- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more
- Ability to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stress
- Must maintain confidentiality
