This position is classified as non-exempt in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws. As a Circuit Board Assembler, you will operate various machines, assemble circuit board components, and create printed circuit boards ensuring complete, accurate, and on-time products delivered to customers.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role

The following duties are considered essential functions of the Circuit Board Assembler position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

A. Creating a High-Quality Product: 100% of the Job

  1. Operates SMT/Circuit Board machines, along with other related machines in the work area, in an accurate and efficient way for excellent use of time.
  2. Counts products and maintains accurate inventory to ensure accuracy for the company and the customer.
  3. Ensures all parts are within specifications as described in processes and advises management if not to ensure enhancements/adjustments are made for a high-quality product.
  4. Handles the assembly, sorting, and testing of the various products in an efficient and accurate way, following documented procedures to ensure error-free work.
  5. Confirms and applies appropriate labels on the products in a specific location to identify completed product, where applicable.
  6. Ensures applicable steps are final tested for complete, reliable, on-time, and quality product delivered for full customer satisfaction.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: High School Diploma, GED, or the equivalent in experience with small piece or circuit board assembly preferred.
  2. Experience: 0 - 1+ years of working with small pieces or assembly of small products; enjoys small piece work with hands (such as crafts, small assembly, etc.).
  3. Certification(s): N/A
  4. Functional Skills: Basic math & counting skills, detailed-oriented, precise, and accurate. Able to read, comprehend, and retain work instructions with ability to work with small piece work at a good speed. Solid ability to prioritize and be flexible to move from job to job as priorities change. Ability to learn to operate small assembly equipment, hand tools, screw guns, etc.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic computer skills.
  6. Language Skills: Solid verbal skillset; able to communicate and ask for help; able to see where people need help and assist.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Solid team player who works well with others and takes advice/mentoring well.
  8. Culture Match Behaviors: Respectful of team members and policies, goal and customer-focused; can stay focused on quality, as well as being efficient to produce a high level of output on the job. Requires an excellent work ethic with the ability to learn and problem-solve.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

  • Ability to sit and operate motorized equipment occasionally.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery occasionally.
  • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally.
  • Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow occasionally.
  • Cognitive and reasoning ability to read, review and interpret work orders or processes on a frequent basis.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read small print and respond due to nature of the work occasionally.
  • Ability to talk and communicate with others via phone, in-person, and/or computer.
  • Ability to listen to others, analyze, problem-solve, and respond.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, crouch, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and carry items.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically.

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

  • This position is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate to high.
  • The employee is required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, static bands, etc.
  • This position may face exposure to some variances in temperature; exposure to smells, fumes, working around mechanical parts or confined spaces frequently.
