YRGMERF
is anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against Future
Disease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination.
This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to support
the coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.
Key Responsibilities of City
Coordination Officer
The City Coordination Officer will
be responsible for implementation of the project activities in coordination
with stakeholders. Will report to City Coordinator based in Hyderabad. Will
work closely with other team members.
Project Implementation Support
- Rapid mapping of environmental risks and peri-urban
jurisdictional "grey zones" to prepare a comprehensive baseline of current
surveillance system and activities, role of various stakeholders.
- Will be
responsible to support One Health Activities in high priority wards and grey
zones in peri-urban areas of the selected municipal corporations.
- Supports in conducting a needs
assessment for targeted upskilling sessions for healthcare providers on IHIP
reporting, outbreak investigation, and response.
- Support
implementation of private sector mapping to improve IHIP reporting,
participation in outbreak response activities.
- Supports in
implementation of rumour sentinel activities by identifying them, skilling them
to address such issues under the guidance of MSU and MSVC
- Works closely
with other department staff to ensure that there is coordinated response during
any outbreak in the priority wards and selected peri-urban areas.
- Supports
implementation of IHIP reporting across other clinics managed in the urban
areas in addition to UPHCs in these selected corporations.
- Supports
implementation of engagement of RWAs in the selected geographies so that they
participate in mock drills, community IHIP reporting.
- Ensures that
all project activities comply with YRGMERF’s organisational policies on ethics,
safeguarding, data protection, and financial management
Reporting and Documentation
- Ensures that
the IHIP reported events are coordinated well with other department, the
feedback closure loop is updated with MSU in specific geographies.
- Works closely
with other departments to ensure that the JRRT activities are updated with MSU
- Ensures that best practices are
documented and shared with the Program Associate.
Additional Duties
- Undertake any
other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in support of project
objectives.
Requirements

understanding of the work related to disease surveillance, One Health
Activities
- Ability to learn
fast and work with senior and experienced subject experts
- Knowledge of
latest tools for designing case studies, testimonial videos, other AV products
- Understanding
of Telangana Health Systems is must
- Ability to work
in a multi-disciplinary team and manage time for multiple tasks
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-graduate
degree in development studies, public health, or social sciences
- Minimum 3 years
of experience in urban health, urban livelihood program
- Very good
understanding of role of various stakeholders in a corporation is critical for
this position
- Experience managing
stakeholders for community engagement, implementation of health activities is
essential
- Must be fluent
in Kannada language.
- Own two-wheeler with valid
driving licence is strongly preferred.
