YRGMERF
is anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against Future
Disease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination.
This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to support
the coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.
Key Responsibilities
The
City Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the project activities in
the designated municipal corporation and peri-urban areas, coordination with
stakeholders, monitoring of the activities. Will report to Project Lead based
at Bengaluru. Will work closely with other team members.
Project
Implementation Support
- Will
be responsible to ensure that the proposed activities are implemented as per
the timelines including organising collaborative activities with local health
departments.
- Ensures
the project activities and plans are discussed with the local health
departments both in urban and peri-urban areas so that the resources are
optimised.
Team
Management and Quality Assurance
- Directly
supervises the designated staff, address bottlenecks, and provide support in
implementation of the project including on the job skilling of the staff to
perform their duties
- Works
closely with the subject experts to ensure that the activities are thought
through and designed as per the local needs, they are consulted with right
stakeholders before being rolled out.
- Ensures
that the team members are having clear focus on the implementation of the
activities, able to flag issues in timely manner which may hinder the progress
as well as share the best practices.
- Close-coordination
with MSU, DSO and local disease surveillance teams for both human and animal
health is critical. Must lead these coordination activities with support of
subject experts.
- Works
closely with the other relevant departments and agencies to make the activities
relevant and impacting to the preparedness of disease outbreaks in the
designated project areas.
- Conducts
field visit to observe field operations first-hand, interact with local
stakeholders
- Ensures
that all project activities comply with YRGMERF’s organisational policies on
ethics, safeguarding, data protection, and financial management
Innovation
and Best Practices
- Ensures
that framework for innovations and best practices are embedded within the
project activities design, monitoring and DQA framework.
- Collaboration
with local communities, opinion leaders, RWAs in implementing these innovations
and best practices are critical. Must ensure that they are part of the design
process.
- Ensures
that government approved tools and techniques are scaled up and widely
practiced.
Reporting
and Documentation
- Ensures
that the data quality checks are performed by the team regular manner and
feedback is incorporated in the implementation.
- Progress
monitoring using a tracker and reporting to the management is key
responsibility.
Additional

- Undertakes
any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in support of project
objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
- Masters in Public
Health or Social Studies with minimum 5 years' experience in managing projects
in hyderabad under NUHM, Urban Health Project, Disease Surveillance, One Health
Activities, Urban Poverty Alleviation, National Vector Borne Control Program.
