Civil & Access Design Specialist

As part of the internalization of key development and pre-construction activities, Boralex is seeking a CAD & Civil / Access Design Specialist to support the development of onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects across the United Kingdom and France.
Working closely with both UK and French engineering teams, you will provide in-house technical expertise throughout the development and pre-construction phases of renewable energy projects. This hands-on role focuses on access design and transport feasibility, civil pre-design, CAD production and spatial data management, while contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient and cost-effective project solutions.
⚡ You will play an important role in:

Designing and assessing access routes, transport studies and abnormal load feasibility for wind, solar and energy storage projects in the UK and France.
Supporting the preliminary civil design of roads, platforms, crane pads, site infrastructure and earthworks, while integrating constructability and cost considerations.
Producing and maintaining high-quality CAD drawings for development studies, permitting applications and pre-construction activities, while supporting the management of spatial project data.
Providing technical support to development, engineering and construction teams through site visits, consultant coordination and the identification of access, civil and development constraints.

💡 To succeed in this position, you need:

A degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, combined with proven experience in road, access and civil infrastructure design.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, Covadis or equivalent tools.
Solid knowledge of access road design, earthworks, site layouts, abnormal load transport requirements and the integration of environmental, hydrological and geotechnical constraints.
Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants in a renewable energy development environment.
