Civil Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent serves as a regional civil engineer for dam safety modification and related products of the Southwest Division (Region) Dam Safety Production Center.

Represent USACE on DoD and other interagency working groups in an effort to develop or enhance analysis and design tools for non-routine dam safety modification.

Manage and tracks the progress and adequacy of work assigned to, and reviews deliverables prepared by, A-E contractors

The incumbent applies engineering and related scientific knowledge, together with practical engineering know-how, in order to understand problems and to recommend alternative solutions.

Prepare civil design reports, dam safety modification reports, civil engineering portions of risk analysis reports, and/or construction drawings and specifications.

Participate with project personnel in research of contract plans and specifications and other project documentation.
