Location: Hybrid in San Diego, California 92130, offering a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Note: Candidates must have 1+ years of litigation experience and must currently be within 1 to 6 years of associate attorney experience. An active California State Bar license in good standing is required. Candidates at approximately the 5-year level and above must also have deposition experience.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
  • Manage cases through investigation, discovery, evaluation, settlement, arbitration, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, reports, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal and factual issues.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and potential exposure to develop effective case strategies.
  • Communicate directly with clients, insurance professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Take and defend depositions as experience allows.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and other proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality representation.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active California State Bar license in good standing.
  • 1 to 6 years of associate attorney experience.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience required.
  • Civil litigation or insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
  • Deposition experience required for candidates at approximately the 5-year level and above.
  • Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Collaborative, professional, client-focused approach.
  • Ability to commute to San Diego for the hybrid schedule.
