CIVIL PROJECT DIRECTOR
Strategic Project Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all assigned civil construction projects
- Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with company objectives
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from planning to completion
- Drive long-term project performance, profitability, and efficiency
Project Oversight & Delivery
- Ensure successful delivery of projects within scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets
- Monitor project milestones and take corrective actions where necessary
- Review and approve major construction methods, programmes, and technical solutions
- Ensure effective coordination across all project teams and stakeholders
Commercial & Financial Management
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial performance
- Approve major expenditures, variation orders, and contract claims
- Ensure profitability and financial sustainability of projects
- Work closely with QS and commercial teams on cost planning and risk management
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the primary senior liaison with clients, consultants, and authorities
- Manage high-level negotiations and contractual discussions
- Ensure strong client relationships and satisfaction throughout project lifecycle
- Represent the company in key meetings, presentations, and project reviews
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and manage Project Managers, Construction Managers, and site teams
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to senior project staff
- Build high-performing teams and ensure effective manpower planning
- Drive leadership development within the project organisation
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites
- Ensure adherence to BCA, MOM, and all regulatory requirements
- Oversee quality assurance systems and ensure defect-free delivery
Risk & Contract Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Oversee contractual compliance and dispute resolution
- Manage claims, variations, and contractual obligations effectively
- Ensure proper governance and risk control across all projects
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities and support tendering activities
- Contribute to company growth strategies in the construction sector
- Maintain industry relationships with clients, consultants, and partners
Reporting & Governance
- Report project performance to Managing Director / Board of Directors
- Provide regular updates on cost, schedule, risk, and performance
- Ensure accurate documentation and project reporting standards
4. Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 10–15 years of experience in civil construction, with senior leadership exposure
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or building projects
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, and project controls
- Familiar with Singapore regulations (BCA, MOM, WSH) preferred
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
