Civil / Structural Designer (Saudi Arabia)
We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality civil and structural design deliverables, including 2D drawings, 3D models, layouts, and construction drawings for industrial and Oil & Gas facilities.
The role requires strong experience in structural steel and concrete modelling, foundations, pipe racks, equipment support structures, underground utilities, and multidisciplinary coordination throughout FEED and Detailed Engineering project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D civil and structural design models and drawings.
- Prepare detailed drawings for structural steel, concrete structures, foundations, pipe racks, platforms, shelters, buildings, and equipment support structures.
- Prepare foundation layouts, pile layouts, structural framing plans, sections, elevations, and detailed construction drawings.
- Develop and update 3D models using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Smart 3D (S3D), AVEVA E3D, or similar modelling software.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, reinforcement drawings, and Material Take-Offs (MTO).
- Coordinate with Civil/Structural Engineers and other disciplines including Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, and Process teams.
- Perform model reviews and clash detection to ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and constructability.
- Incorporate engineering calculations, vendor data, equipment loads, and project specifications into design deliverables.
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with project specifications, company procedures, client standards, and applicable international codes.
- Review and incorporate engineering comments and revisions during FEED, Detailed Engineering, and construction stages.
- Support site activities, technical queries, field modifications, and construction-related design requirements.
- Maintain quality and accuracy of design deliverables within agreed project schedules.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience as a Civil/Structural Designer.
- Strong experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, or EPC industry.
- Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete modelling and detailing.
- Strong experience with pipe racks, equipment support structures, platforms, shelters, foundations, and underground utilities.
- Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Smart 3D (S3D), or AVEVA E3D.
- Good working knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Experience in extracting drawings, MTOs, and other deliverables from 3D modelling systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and vendor documents.
- Familiarity with international structural and civil design standards.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
