Bowhead Specialty Claims Business Analyst
• Collaborate with business users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into Business requirements. • Provide product and process knowledge to support design, development, testing and execution of solutions. • Collaborate with colleagues and vendors to provide a delivery estimate and gain team commitment.
• Manage the product backlog and prioritize it based on changing requirements.
• Adhere to the project’s timeline and keep the Project Manager apprised of status, issues, and progress.
• Work with business areas and QA team to prepare Test Cases, scheduling and facilitating walkthroughs as needed.
• Obtain final sign off by the business.
• Assist the QA and Business Team during System testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by answering any questions and triaging defects.
• Lead weekly meetings with Claims and Billing teams to gather their needs and reviewing their issues. Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years' experience in the Property & Casualty industry.
• Knowledge and experience with agile software development practices.
• Experience in working in a non-structured environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Sharepoint, Jira, Confluence and MS Teams.
• Strong knowledge of Claims system. P&C Insurance knowledge (specialty is preferred)
• Experience working with Guidewire INow product
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information (both verbal and written) to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to successfully negotiate with all customers to obtain the most favorable outcome for all.
• Experience identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability.
• Ability to prioritize effectively.
