The candidate must be a highly skilled Claims Specialist who can handle a range of complex cases, including Bad Faith claims, documented cases of daycare abuse/molestation, fatalities involving coverage issues, and construction defect cases involving multiple parties and complex contractual issues. The role will also involve managing coverage files, centralizing our Declaratory Relief Actions actions under one person, and resolving problematic claims that require dedicated focus.
What You’ll Do:
- Handle complex cases involving true Bad Faith claims with adverse and identified coverage/claims handling issues.
- Manage documented cases of daycare abuse/molestation, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution.
- Handle fatality cases with coverage issues, providing expert analysis and resolution.
- Manage construction defect cases, specifically focusing on complex ones involving multiple parties and intricate contractual issues.
- Centralize Declaratory Relief Actions by taking charge of coverage files and coordinating with relevant parties.
- Handle severe injury cases with complex issues, including coverage, liability, or damages concerns.
- Evaluate policy limit exposures, ensuring a true policy limit exposure exists and the potential for extra-contractual exposure is real.
- Address problematic claims that require dedicated attention to achieve resolution.
What We Need:
- At least 15-20 years of directly related experience with Commercial General Liability and Litigation
- Previous experience in handling complex claims, particularly in the areas of Bad Faith, daycare abuse/molestation, fatalities with coverage issues, and construction defect cases involving multiple parties and complex contracts.
- Proven track record of autonomously executing tasks with precision and efficiency.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage analysis, and claims handling practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex issues and reach satisfactory resolutions.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A collaborative mindset to work closely with the gatekeepers in determining case assignments and reassignments.
- Familiarity with Declaratory Relief Action procedures and centralized file management is a plus
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
