Class 1/AZ Shunt Driver
Summary
Operate Class 1/AZ trucks to move and stage trailers, perform quality checks, and coordinate shunting activities in Winnipeg.
Bison Drivers are paid every week, on time!
- 12-hour shifts
- Full time position, working up to 45 hours per week.
- Shunting experience is an asset
- Hourly rate: $23.66/hour and hourly safety bonus
- $0.50 /extra an hour if LCV qualified.
- Hours of work may change from time to time according to operational demands
- Reporting directly to Shunt Coordinator and Yard Services Supervisor
- Essential responsibilities are trailer movement, trailer staging, trailer quality checks, and trailer greasing and other tasks as assigned
- Responsible for handling all incoming requests to the Winnipeg shunt team on assigned shift
- Managing all trailer movements on assigned shift
- Needs to work closely with Shunt Coordinator, City Dispatch, Maintenance, and the Warehouse on daily shunting activities
- Must be comfortable with smartphone technology for emailing, texting, and internet.
Candidate Profile
- Company Driver residing in Winnipeg or immediate area
- Must have a Class 1/AZ license and 24 months tractor trailer experience
- You will be well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
- Foster a teamwork environment
- Ensure other shunt drivers are operating with good efficiency and offer coaching to improve
- Driver who consistently leads by example
- You will be reliable, flexible, and punctual
- Must be comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
