Class 1/AZ Shunt Driver

Summary

Operate Class 1/AZ trucks to move and stage trailers, perform quality checks, and coordinate shunting activities in Winnipeg.

Bison Drivers are paid every week, on time!

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Full time position, working up to 45 hours per week.
  • Shunting experience is an asset
  • Hourly rate: $23.66/hour and hourly safety bonus
  • $0.50 /extra an hour if LCV qualified.
  • Hours of work may change from time to time according to operational demands
  • Reporting directly to Shunt Coordinator and Yard Services Supervisor
  • Essential responsibilities are trailer movement, trailer staging, trailer quality checks, and trailer greasing and other tasks as assigned
  • Responsible for handling all incoming requests to the Winnipeg shunt team on assigned shift
  • Managing all trailer movements on assigned shift
  • Needs to work closely with Shunt Coordinator, City Dispatch, Maintenance, and the Warehouse on daily shunting activities
  • Must be comfortable with smartphone technology for emailing, texting, and internet.

Candidate Profile

  • Company Driver residing in Winnipeg or immediate area
  • Must have a Class 1/AZ license and 24 months tractor trailer experience
  • You will be well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Foster a teamwork environment
  • Ensure other shunt drivers are operating with good efficiency and offer coaching to improve
  • Driver who consistently leads by example
  • You will be reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Must be comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
