Class 4 Tanker Driver
Roles & Responsibilities
A tanker driver safely transportsbulk liquids, gases, or dry goods in specialized trucks while strictlyfollowing safety and hazardous-material regulations.
- Safely drive and maneuver heavy tanker truck units along planned routes.
- Adhere to traffic laws, speed limits, and hours-of-service regulations, taking required rest breaks
- Ensure liquid or gas cargo remains stable and properly secured to prevent dangerous shifting during transit.
- Attach hoses, pumps, or couplings correctly to fill and discharge cargo.
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) carefully, especially when handling hazardous or volatile cargo.
- Inspect the truck, tank unit, holding tanks, and valves thoroughly before and after every trip
- Read safety data sheets and follow industry or federal compliance rules.
- Know how to respond to spills, leaks, or other emergency situations.
- Complete daily logs, manifest documents, shipping papers, and driving hour records (such as via a tachograph).
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, plant personnel, and customers at delivery sites.
- Exhibit responsibility, honesty, punctuality, and ability to work independently
Key Requirements
- Possess a valid Singapore Class 4 driving license
- Prior experience in driving tankers preferred.
- Have a clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Be physically fit to lift and move heavy goods.
- Know local roads and navigation well.
- Be on time and manage time well.
